Service Grants and Fees

Fees charged by 501 Commons for services to nonprofits.

We are committed to helping you meet your goals and achieve your mission. 501 Commons charges sliding scale fees in order to make our services accessible and ensure that organizations are committed to the projects we do together.

 

How It Works

  • Fees range from $30 to $130 per hour, depending on the annual budget of your organization.
  • Most contracts are for a fixed price, based on the estimated hours a consultant or coach will spend with your nonprofit. In most cases, our consultants spend a few hours more than is estimated in the contract. There is no charge for these "extra" hours.
  • If your situation changes significantly and additional or less work is needed to complete the project, we can adjust the hours estimate and cost of the project.
  • Your total cost is calculated by multiplying your hourly rate by the estimated number of hours. We invoice half the cost at the start of a project, and the remaining half upon completion
  • The average market rate for all types of consulting services in the Puget Sound region is $200 per hour, and the average rate for coaching is $100 per hour. The difference between the market rate and the amount that we charge you is provided as an in-kind service grant from 501 Commons.
