Chris Miller

Board Member

Chris Miller serves as Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at Avanade, a leading global business technology solutions and managed services provider. He is in responsible for Avanade’s technology strategy and innovation functions worldwide, their client-centric innovation agenda (including Avanade Innovation Labs), the annual Technology Vision white paper, and the emerging technology incubation program.

Previously, Chris was Chief Information Officer, responsible for the technology capabilities that power the company’s people and operations worldwide. Chris and his team worked closely with Microsoft to maintain Avanade’s role as an aggressive early adopter of Microsoft enterprise technologies. He regularly shared first-hand experience and insights about deployments with clients to help them optimize their own operations.

Chris joined Avanade after 16 years at Accenture, where he most recently served as a senior director for Accenture’s Collaboration 2.0 program. In this role, he oversaw a multi-year initiative to enable 180,000 global employees with next-generation collaboration capabilities.

He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in finance with minors in mathematics and history from Indiana University. His involvement in the community includes being a member and founder of the University of Washington Information School and formerly serving as the Chairman of 501 Commons’ Technology Leadership Council.

Chris is married and is the father to three daughters. He frequently networks within the technology executive community and likes to blog and talk about the tech sector. He joined 501 Commons’ board of directors because the mission of the organization resonated with him, as he is always looking for opportunities to give back to the community by leveraging his skills and knowledge to help nonprofit organizations achieve their missions.
