Janice Deguchi is excited to serve as the Executive Director of Neighborhood House, a community action agency serving thousands of low income families living in Seattle and south King County for more than 100 years. Janice also serves as the current chair of the Asian Pacific Director’s Coalition, representing leaders and emerging leaders in the nonprofit and government sector, committed to social justice for AAPIs and all communities of color. She brings more than 25 years of experience as a nonprofit executive leader to the 501 Commons Board.

Previous roles have included Executive Director of Community for Youth, Chief Operating Officer of Keiro Northwest, Executive Director of Denise Louie Education Center, past president of the Seattle Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), and past president of the Washington State Association of Head Start/ECEAP.

Janice received her Master's in Education from Seattle University and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington. She is a proud parent of four young adults and enjoys travelling, hiking, and food.
