Scott is responsible for advancing 501 Common's fund development and corporate engagement goals. He serves as the primary staff partner for several leadership groups at 501 Commons, the Executive Service Corps Leadership Council, the Technology Leadership Council, and the Board Governance and Linkage/Ambassador Committees.
Long connected with 501 Commons, Scott has participated in both our VIP and Catalyst cohort programs, provided guidance as a skilled volunteer for a consultancy project. He also served on the 501 Commons board. Before coming to 501 Commons, Scott was the Director of Business Development and Gift Planning at The Seattle Foundation. He has demonstrated expertise in fundraising for large nonprofit organizations, as well as sales and marketing within the hospitality, insurance, banking, and real estate industries.
A native of Los Angeles, Scott became enthralled with the Puget Sound Region while he was assigned by the United States Air Force to the Joint US/NATO E-3A AWACS Test & Evaluation Center, which was situated at Boeing Field. He relocated back to the region, several years ago, to be enriched by its geography, culture, people, and climate.
Scott has a baccalaureate degree in Business Management from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington, and a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University in Burbank, California. He is married and the father of two adult children, as well as a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.
