Tam grew up in western Massachusetts and received a B.A. in Communications and Media from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. After graduating he moved to Los Angeles where he did various film and television production jobs. Not only did Tam do “behind the camera” work for various Hollywood studios and production companies, he also dabbled around in “front of the camera,” which allowed him the opportunity to become a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). After several fast paced and exciting years in the Southern California sun, Tam moved north to the “city by the bay.”
In San Francisco, Tam expanded his education and took classes in 3D computer animation at the Academy of Art University. He also got an administrative job with a dot-com company called Kosmo.com, an online delivery company equivalent to today’s Amazon Prime and Uber Eats combined into one. Eventually, Kosmo.com became an unfortunate victim of the dot-com boom or bust era. Several years later, Tam moved even further north to the “emerald city.”
In Seattle, Tam worked for Washington Mutual, which became Chase Bank. Thereafter, he had contract positions at Microsoft and Amazon. Tam also worked for several other Seattle-based establishments, from Holland America Line to the Department of Corrections and everything in between. Tam has a multitude of administrative knowledge coupled with a creative liberal arts background.
Fun Fact: In his spare time, Tam enjoys writing fictional comedic or dramatic short stories and skits, as well as songwriting for the “pop-music” genre.
