Yvonne is an accomplished organizational development and human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience in the higher education, nonprofit, and government sectors. Her interests have focused on advancing individual and organizational potential through leadership and staff development, strategic alignment, and talent management. She brings a positive, inclusive, and practical approach to her work.
Prior to joining 501 Commons to provide HR consulting services, she worked for Bellevue College, where she served as the Director of Organizational Development & Employee Services and the interim Vice President of Human Resources. As Interim VP, Yvonne served as the EEO, ADA and Title IX officer and on the BIRST (Anti-Bias) Committee. In collaboration with Dean of High School programs, she developed and introduced Title IX training to campus. In collaboration with the Office of Equity and Pluralism, Office of Instruction and Human Resources, Yvonne designed and delivered training to over 600 staff and faculty as lead trainer for Implicit Bias in the Selection Process. She served on Courageous Conversations about Race facilitator team.
During her tenure the YMCA of Greater Seattle, Yvonne helped to advance diversity/cultural competency initiatives through participation in the Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Team and Downtown branch Youth Climate Team where she proposed solutions to removing barriers and increasing awareness and inclusion and coordinated with outside consultant the delivery of cultural competency training to branches.
For the past 15 years, Yvonne has expanded into the career development field, and has conducted career transition courses and workshops as well as individual career coaching. She has helped all types of people explore and take the next steps in their career path.
Facilitating inclusive learning experiences is a passion of Yvonne’s, she is adjunct faculty at Northeastern University and Seattle Central College, and is a former faculty member of Bellevue College and Cambridge College. In addition to teaching, Yvonne provides consulting and training services through Bellevue College’s Business Training Institute and her own independent practice. She has a M.Ed. with a concentration on organizational development and B.S. in business management. Yvonne also has certificates in Instructional Design and Mediation. She is an experienced facilitator of MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, Dependable Strengths, Gracious Space, as well as other team-based tools.
Fun Fact: In her free time, Yvonne enjoys hiking, jazz music, making and seeing art, theater, and volunteering.
