Matt Aspin

HR and Learning Program Manager

Matt believes that people and relationships are the key to success in every organization; and brings that perspective to his work as 501 Commons’ HR and Learning Program Manager.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Matt received his BA in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts. He pursued his Masters in Adult and Org Learning from Suffolk University and is currently finishing his Masters of Divinity degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School, whose curriculum emphasizes “leadership in communities engaged in social movements and prepares students to be effective and accountable leaders in our multiracial, multicultural, global world.”

Matt draws from broad array of professional and volunteer experiences – including operations management, OD consulting, executive recruiting, training, and HR leadership – much of which he accrued while working at large nonprofit organizations in and around Seattle. His first engagement with 501 Commons came as a volunteer consultant in 2006.

When he’s not at work or volunteering in the community, Matt is usually outdoors, enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the Pacific Northwest – often with his bright and confident daughter Cece.

Fun Fact: Matt designed and built a 225-square-foot treehouse in his backyard.
