Young Spaulding began her Encore Fellowship at 501 Commons in January 2018, focusing on special projects that enable improved data visualization, data analysis product offerings, and improved organizational excellence.
Young retired from Intel Corporation after 23 years of service as an Industrial Engineering (IE) technical manager. She managed Intel’s multi-billion dollar Fabs in the areas of strategic and tactical capacity planning, execution of output performance, labor, cost, layout, LEAN manufacturing from start-up to ramp, sustaining, and end of life. Young received recognition as an IE expert in global semiconductor manufacturing.
Young was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at New Mexico State University and an Executive MBA at the University of New Mexico. Young’s passion for supporting nonprofit organizations started at Intel when she participated in fundraising, food drives, food banks, painting and refurbishing habitats, feeding starving children, and many other activities to support her community. She has a passion for helping others.
Young and her husband love international traveling, especially water cruises and group land tours where she has met interesting people and shared experiences. They have four grandchildren who all love to learn Korean songs and play endlessly. Young loves to cook and garden.
Fun Fact: Young and her husband joined a Korean drum band and perform at many nonprofit events that promote Korean culture and connect with different organizations.
