Yvette Doan is a Human Resources Consultant with a diverse background in HR and Operations and a relentless and compassionate commitment to personal growth. She grew up in a small farming town in Montana and earned her degree in Psychology from Carroll College. While still an undergrad, she began her career serving at-risk and adjudicated youth. This powerful experience charted Yvette’s inspired journey in nonprofit service. After managing day programs for Easter Seal Goodwill Industries, Yvette accepted a start-up role with A.W.A.R.E., Inc., where she designed, opened, and managed residential treatment homes for children.
Yvette worked as a Counselor at the San Diego Center for Children and later managed day and residential services for T.E.R.I., Inc., New Haven Youth and Family Services, and Triple L Group Homes. While at Triple L, Yvette added the responsibilities of HR Coordinator (a new position in the company), where she developed the HR foundation and strategy for the organization.
Since 2002, Yvette and her family have resided in Portland/Vancouver. Before joining 501 Commons, Yvette held leadership roles with The MENTOR Network. As HR Business Partner (2003-2013), she partnered with corporate, executive, and field leaders to design and drive people and business strategy for Oregon; including full scope employee experience, leadership coaching, training and development, performance management, risk mitigation, change management, succession planning collaboration with centers of excellence, and employee relations, retention and investigations.
As State Director (2013-2019), Yvette led statewide leadership teams in operations, HR, finance, compliance, and quality improvement. During her time there, Yvette developed an organizational structure that supports high-performance teams during times of change and challenges, created strategic plans built on relationship equity, cultivated a leadership culture with a robust succession bench, and fostered a spirit of shared ownership and accountability.
Yvette believes that practicing courage in her personal journey is the key to delivering her highest good for others. She is deeply honored to be invited to walk in partnership with anyone who is passionately pursuing their vision.
Fun Fact: Some of her loves include spending time doing anything with her three bright, fierce, independent children, hosting friends and family, experimenting in the kitchen, being an avid soccer mom, and continuously pursuing adventures of all sorts.
