Charlotte serves as a Financial Services Associate at 501 Commons. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Methods from the University of Illinois, she spent several years working with mainframe financial software companies.
She got her first introduction to the nonprofit world in 1992 while volunteering at the UW Botanical Herb Garden. Since then, Charlotte has volunteered and worked for many horticulture, historic preservation, low-income housing, and theatre nonprofits. She also has past experience serving as a volunteer with the 501 Commons Executive Service Corps.
Charlotte started working as a freelance bookkeeper after learning QuickBooks in 1992. She began working as an accountant, bookkeeper, and Director or Finance for nonprofit organizations after completing a Graduate Certificate in Accounting at the University of Washington in 2001. She has a lot of experience with internal and government audits, enjoys streamlining and organizing accounting systems, and maintaining auditable books.
Fun Fact: Charlotte grew up in both Northern California and Munich, Germany, where she learned to hike and ski in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the European Alps. She now spends a lot of time hiking in the Cascade Mountains, Olympic Mountains, and Canadian Rockies.
