Joan provides accounting and bookkeeping services to multiple clients in the area. She has over twenty years of experience in accounting and has worked as a Financial Manager in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. She has developed her expertise in working with small businesses and enjoys performing the nuts and bolts of bookkeeping as well as providing financial and compliance reporting. She believes in connecting with her clients and becoming an extended team member working toward each organization’s unique mission. Joan received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting Specialization, from the University of Washington where she earned a lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.
Prior to joining 501 Commons in 2011, Joan’s path took many turns. She was President/Treasurer of her neighborhood association. She provided 24 hour care for a disabled relative while being a stay at home mom volunteering for many of her children’s school and sports activities. She worked as a District Manager for a tax preparation franchise. The common theme of Joan’s career is connecting with people: family, friends, and co-workers. Joan is a home body at heart and spends her spare time with family and working on various home and garden projects.
Fun fact: Joan once coached junior girls little league fast-pitch softball.
