Dave Boyce

Database Consultant

As a Database Consultant, Dave works with nonprofits to enable and empower them to use technology in new and economical ways. With more than 20 years of programming experience and a Computer Science degree, Dave enjoys guiding nonprofits on their technology journey.

Dave founded a technology startup that became one of the top five network video surveillance companies in the US. He understands the challenges that nonprofits face in managing growth and technology. An entrepreneur at heart, Dave’s most rewarding experiences in his career have been working with nonprofits, learning about their mission, and helping them streamline their business.

Dave serves on 501 Commons’ Data Solutions Team, working to expand offerings for analytics using such tools as Power BI and Tableau. Analytics, data querying, and lean process management are some of his top professional passions.

A native of Washington, Dave was born in Edmonds but grew up in Leavenworth, WA. After high school he attended college at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Go Cougs! With a degree in Computer Science, he has worked his entire career in WA for small to large companies (PACCAR, Microsoft), growing his technical skills for designing and managing technology projects.

Fun facts: Dave once sailed from Seattle to the San Juan Islands on his Catalina 36. Sailing from Admiralty Inlet by Port Townsend into the Strait of Juan de Fuca was a humbling experience. Dave also enjoys healthy living, running, and climbing.
