Nonprofits do incredible work to make our communities better places to live. Rarely are these organizations ever in the news. The next King County Executive Director Forum, a unique opportunity for EDs/CEOs to connect with their peers, share ideas, and learn from each other in a supportive environment, will be on Friday, June 3 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Pacific Tower. This July, the company will celebrate its centennial. On Wednesday, May 18, 2016 the U.S. Department of Labor announced final changes to overtime rules, acting under the authority of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The final rule focuses primarily on redefining who is considered "exempt" from federal overtime compensation laws. These changes will affect the for-profit and nonprofit sectors alike.
