The VIP Manager Corps program (VMC) is a tremendous opportunity for recent college grads looking to start their career, seasoned professionals wanting to jump headfirst into the nonprofit sector, and individuals seeking work with a limited time commitment.
VMC, a partnership between 501 Commons and the United Way of King County, pairs volunteer managers with a local nonprofit to provide support for volunteer-related planning and implementation. We are now recruiting new people to apply to become a VMC member.
VMC members work about 10 hours per week from mid-June through September 30. VMC members will receive:

VMC members work about 10 hours per week from mid-June through September 30. VMC members will receive:
- Training in volunteer management and project management
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization
- An opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of peers
- Ongoing support from 501 Commons staff and an advisor
- The ability to earn internship credit
- A service award worth $400 upon completing the program
Interested applicants should have good people skills, strong attention to detail, Microsoft Office computer skills, and a commitment to volunteerism. People with volunteer, supervisory, nonprofit, human resources and/or project management experience are encouraged to apply.
The limited schedule required for this program may be appealing to people with disabilities, students, parents, and military veterans. Many of the organizations participating predominately serve people of color and we encourage people with diverse backgrounds or those who are immigrants to apply.
