Make Data an Ally in Your Mission

Posted Sep 13, 2017 03:11 PM
"Data" isn't just numbers or words on a screen. It can be a powerful tool to help your nonprofit make informed decisions about fundraising, program development, marketing, hiring, volunteer management, cultivating relationships with donors, bookkeeping, and so on.

So, how can your organization harness the power of data to help you better serve your mission?

Try our brand new Data Assessment to gain better insight into what your data can tell you and how you can take advantage of it. The assessment is based on our Five Elements of a Healthy Nonprofit framework and will look at how data is being used in governance, HR, program evaluation, fundraising, and more.

The 501 Commons Data Solutions staff will work with you to provide a comprehensive evaluation of how you collect data, where it comes from, how it’s used, areas in which you can improve, and how your data can become a true ally of your mission.

Have data in multiple systems? Unsure what you need to collect to report on grants, make better decisions, or inform the board? Need an outside perspective? We can help! To get started, fill out our Request for Assistance form and mention “data assessment tool” as the issue you want addressed. We will then follow up and engage in a conversation with you to see if this tool is appropriate for your organization.
