National nonprofit conferences are a fantastic way for sector professionals to come away informed, inspired, and equipped to serve their missions. However, it can be difficult to attend these conferences when they're held in cities across the country that are far away from home.
However, attending a national conference when they come to Seattle can save you a huge cost in time and money. Fortunately, there are two in particular that are making their way to the Pacific Northwest in 2017.
Don’t miss these opportunities to learn and be inspired and to deepen the skills of your staff and board:
- Service Unites, the national conference on Volunteering and Service, which is sponsored by Points of Light, is in Seattle from June 20-23, 2017 at the Washington State Convention Center. Early bird registration, which is $400 for Points of Light members and $450 for nonmembers (with discounts for national service members and program staff) opens on March 3 and runs through April 28. If you volunteer to support the conference you pay only $250, but act quickly to get a spot by contacting: volunteers@volunteeringandservice.org.
- The BoardSource Leadership Forum is in Seattle from October 19-20, 2017. It is not too early to promote this national gathering to your board members and to staff who work with the board. This event only happens every two years and will not be back to Seattle for a long time. Don’t miss it!
