Puget Sound Christian Clinic, a nonprofit providing free healthcare services to underserved people in King and Snohomish Counties, knew their IT system needed a checkup. They had a large amount of medical records, patient information, and other data to store. But with aging hardware, they knew they had to act fast before a technology crisis hit. That inspired Puget Sound Christian Clinic to enroll in Plan IT (formerly Deep Dive), a technology-focused program of 501 Commons.
Lynn Good, director of finances & operations at PSCC, says the help they received could not have come at a better time. "We had a feeling we were living on borrowed time," Lynn says.
The lack of a plan for a system crash worried Lynn. So when the Plan IT! consultants starting working with PSCC, they had three goals in mind: analyze their technological network to determine the hardware and software necessary to keep their IT system safe, install virus protection, and develop a case for funding to pay for upgrades. Now that their work with Plan IT! is completed, PSCC has a compelling case to present to the board for how to improve their IT systems. The consultants who worked with them broadened their understanding of how to use technology and maintain their system for the long haul.
"The level of support and expertise we got was top notch. These guys are committed," Lynn says. "They wanted to help and create for us a roadmap for what we needed in place to stabilize our network and technical operations."
Puget Sound Christian Clinic now has a prescription for their technology. How about you?
Plan IT!, a FREE program thanks to Microsoft, is starting in March. Spots in the spring cohort are limited. Plan IT! is open to organizations throughout the Puget Sound. Your Plan IT! team must be willing to travel to Seattle for the launch and two cohort meetings that will give you a clear pathway for technological success. Organizations that successfully complete the program will receive a cash implementation grant. Let us know today if you want to participate.
