In front of a sold-out crowd of business and nonprofit leaders, 501 Commons was honored as Nonprofit of the Year by Seattle Business magazine at the inaugural Community Impact Awards held on October 22 at MOHAI.
The Community Impact Awards recognize local companies and organizations “whose dedication and commitment to strengthening our community have had the greatest impact on the region.” 501 Commons shares this award with Seattle CityClub, one of our partners, who won an equal share of the votes.
This award is a testament to the four years 501 Commons staff, volunteers, and partners have worked to continuously provide a broader array of services to help more nonprofits across the State of Washington succeed. In the last two years, we’ve doubled our outreach due in large part to adding technology services and the Volunteer Manager Corps, as well as the rapid growth of HR and financial services.
None of this would have been possible without the more than 12,000 hours of volunteer service donated by members of our Executive Service Corps. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and valuable expertise!
Close partners of 501 Commons also received awards. Microsoft was acknowledged for their corporate and employee contributions, in addition to past clients like Treehouse and Rainier Scholars. A complete list of winners and nominees can be seen here.
Earlier this year 501 Commons was recognized as a Featured Finalist for the America’s Service Commission (ASC) Innovation and Leadership Awards, which pays tribute to nonprofit organizations who promote volunteerism and community service.
Congratulations to all the winners!
