Serving greater Snohomish County, preschool through 8th grade students are presented with a unique teaching model that integrates the International Baccalaureate curriculum with student-driven, action-oriented projects.
Soundview School’s forward-thinking approach means that technology is crucial to their students' education. Four years ago, they saw an opportunity to partner with 501 Commons’ IT Infrastructure Support Services.
“Our IT needs included learning more about the equipment we had, taking inventory, figuring out what needed to be updated, and crafting a plan to fortify our technology environment,” says Hazel Estrella, Soundview School’s Business Manager.
The departure of their Technology Director made them realize they needed to stabilize their IT processes so that they weren’t reliant upon the expertise of one single staff member. 501 Commons’ IT consultants worked closely with the school to complete important projects such as mapping out their network system, updating and transferring information to a new server, backing up critical data, setting up their Internet-based phone systems, and making sure their computer lab, Wi-Fi networks, and student web filters are up to speed before each school year begins.
“501 Commons has been very helpful. We were at square one, but now we have a more stable technology environment,” Hazel says. “Their responsiveness to our concerns has been great!”
