We’re here! After months upon months of careful planning, 501 Commons has finally moved into its new home on the 11th floor of Pacific Tower on north Beacon Hill.

This move is made possible by a dynamic civic collaboration between state government, Seattle Central College, and several local nonprofits, including 501 Commons, Neighborcare Health, The Cross-Cultural Health Care Program, and FareStart.

501 Commons’ first official work day in the new space was Monday, Dec. 22. We are excited about Pacific Tower’s central location within greater Seattle, as well as its access to several spaces for trainings and events.

Throughout the upcoming year, additional rental spaces will open up to nonprofits, including rooms equipped as formal training centers, informal reception space, and “hotel” office space for those in need of a short-term location to work for the day. Beginning on April 1, the 8th floor Conference Center, which boasts some of the best views of the city, will become available to reserve.

More information will be presented to nonprofits once we get closer to being ready to rent these particular spaces.

The much-loved Art Deco building, which previously served as headquarters for Amazon, was built in 1932 as a Marine Hospital, renamed the US Public Health Hospital, and later became Pacific Medical Center. PMC still has its main office and Beacon Hill Clinic on the campus. The Pacific Hospital Preservation and Development Authority (PHPDA) manages the campus and channels the revenue it receives into grants that support health care services for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.
