Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to manage ourselves and our relationships effectively, especially when things are tense or we are in conflict. Current research shows that the more emotionally intelligent one is the more likely they are to receive higher peer and supervisor ratings of interpersonal skills and have a higher tolerance for stress. People with high EQ are better able to work effectively in teams, adjust to change and maintain resilience.
