About Breakthrough Fundraising Group
Kate Banta-Green, MPA, CFRE and Barbara Maduell, JD, CFRE have three decades of combined experience working inside and alongside nonprofits to strengthen their communities through philanthropy. After working as colleagues for more than a decade, they founded Breakthrough Fundraising Group in 2017. Breakthrough’s services include leadership coaching and training, feasibility studies, campaign consulting, development assessments, major gift strategy, interim services, and data analytics.
During their careers, Kate and Barb have sat on every side of the nonprofit table: serving in the diverse roles of development director, foundation program officer, leadership gifts officer, consultant, and board member. Why does this matter? They can view your entire project from 30,000 feet, and at the same time, understand how and when work happens on the ground, both in front of donors and behind the scenes.
As consultants, Kate and Barb have served more than 75 nonprofits for development audits, major gifts strategy, interim services, and campaign feasibility studies, design, and execution. They have worked with small and large organizations in human services, K-12 private and public education, arts and culture, and Jewish communal life, helping their clients achieve campaign goals of $1 million to $75 million and raise more money for annual operations. In the process, they engage and empower executives, development staff, board members, and donors.
