About Martha C. Bean

Call on the calm confidence, creative skills and deep experience of Martha C. Bean when:
• Your people aspire to COLLABORATE. Yet they jumble and fumble as the clock ticks.
• Your colleagues talk of TACKLING TOUGH DECISIONS. Yet they can't see how to take the first steps.
• Your group speaks of ENCOURAGING DISSENT. Yet they are paralyzed by candid discourse.
• Your cats say they want to HEAD IN THE SAME DIRECTION. Yet they can't quite stay in a herd.

Is this your organization? Here is what Martha can bring to you when applying her 30+ years of experience to your needs:

COLLABORATIVE EVENTS, SUMMITS AND WORKSHOPS: Martha works with you to define the outcomes you expect from your event. She designs agendas that encourage in-person and off-site participation. She coordinates advance information, trains co-facilitators and field-tests presentations and panelists. She facilitates your event to focus on essential discourse, listening and results. The events she facilitates are fun, revelatory and productive.

GRAPHIC FACILITATION: A hallmark of Martha’s work is her ability to convey technical, scientific and organizational concepts using real-time infographics. She integrates the ideas and experiences of the group into cartoons that propel essential conversations. Martha’s drawings do not belong to her. They are the product and property of the group who have their insights and ideas illuminated via her pen.

MEDIATION AND CONFLICT COACHING: Martha has facilitated over 50 multi-party groups to reach decisions, find agreement and set action plans. She begins by assessing your issues and delineating areas of concurrence and friction. Then she lays out tailored steps for people to resolve and embrace the challenges they face. Martha coaches groups to honor differing perspectives while simultaneously giving full voice to their own interests and values. She guides conversations that are on-point, candid and respectful. Employing shuttle diplomacy when needed, she confirms and documents agreements.

COLLABORATIVE SKILLS TRAINING: Martha provides customized training on collaborative practices including facilitation and effective meeting management, graphic facilitation, remote meeting management, conflict assessment, negotiation and mediation. Her forte is helping organizations value and creatively work with dissent and difference.
