About Westby Associates, Inc.

Westby Associates, Inc. is a regional fund development firm that has generated in excess of $200,000,000 for organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest by specializing in strategic planning and communication, vision casting, capital campaign design and direction, governmental affairs, event management, foundation and grant support, and board development. We exist to provide consultant/practitioner services to nonprofits, assisting them to think and act strategically.

Raising money is not the challenge. Raising a vision is. If a mission defines who an organization is, a vision defines where it is going. We help organizations to create compass points for strategic fundraising by:

1) Developing and/or affirming clear and compelling mission and vision statements;
2) Identifying strategic priorities that are grounded in mission and aimed at a vision;
3) Broadening the ownership of the vision and its strategic priorities through market research and feasibility studies;
4) Identifying and qualifying prospects for their capacity and interest;
5) Designing appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies;
6) Managing and monitoring success;
7) Participating as appropriate in strategic level cultivation and solicitation activities.

We use a customized team approach and our seven development professionals have a combined 80 years of experience in nonprofit management, fund development, marketing, governmental affairs, foundation relations, grant writing, planned giving, and public accounting.

At its essence, a strategic campaign comes down to three critical questions:

1) Do you have a story to tell?
2) People to tell it to?
3) An compelling way to tell it?

Westby Associates, Inc. makes sure your organization can answer these three questions with a resounding yes prior to any strategic campaign.
