Executive Coaching at Family Works

FamilyWorks, a food bank and family center, nourishes and strengthens individuals and families by connecting people with support, resources, and community. FamilyWorks Executive Director, Jake Weber, worked with 501 Commons coach Beth Buelow of ArborVitae Coaching LLC. Beth is a professional coach who provides pro bono services through 501 Commons as a member of the Executive Service Corps of Washington, a program of 501 Commons.

Jake is grateful that Beth makes herself available to nonprofits. Executive directors benefit from working with a coach to address time management, better juggle competing demands, deal with difficult staff and board issues, refine their leadership and management styles, and explore many other issues.

“Coaching validated leadership strengths that I already had, and, at the same time, I received support in the development of skills in other areas of interest, such as communication and organizational skills.”

Jake Weber, Executive Director
FamilyWorks

Many leaders who work with coaches appreciate the opportunity to step back from day-to-day pressures in meetings with their leadership coach. Jake spoke to this benefit: “Dedicating the time and space to engage in thoughtful introspection with a supportive guide was very fruitful for me and the organization! Thank you!”
